The Department of Statistics at Sree Narayana College, Nattika has a proud legacy of academic contribution since its inception in 1981, when it began offering Statistics as a subsidiary paper for undergraduate Mathematics students. Recognising the growing significance of statistical methods in economic analysis, the department expanded its academic reach in 1995, offering Statistics as a core paper for the newly launched M.A. Economics programme.

Marking a significant milestone, the department introduced the Integrated M.Sc. Statistics programme in 2021, incorporating allied core subjects such as Mathematics and Data Science. This innovative programme aims to produce graduates proficient in statistical modelling, data analytics, and computational techniques, tailored to meet the rising demand in fields like management science, data mining, quantitative research, and consultancy services.

With a forward-looking curriculum and a commitment to academic excellence, the department continues to prepare students to become data-literate professionals and researchers capable of making informed contributions across a range of industries and disciplines.
