The Department Started functioning in the year 1967. It teaches Common Courses (6
Courses in 4 Semesters) for all Undergraduate students of Semester I, II, III, and IV. The
curriculum includes a wide range of content including Eco-centrism, Sustainability,
Gender, Human Rights, Values and Ethics, Constitutional values, Globalization, New
Colonialism and Contemporary Issues.

  • The necessary English language skills to enable students to express their feelings,opinions, ideas and thoughts fluently and accurately in personal and professional contexts.
  • A taste for deeper pursuit and acquisition of advanced level of skills in English.
