National Service Scheme
The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a public service program launched by the Government of India in 1969, aimed at developing students’ personality through community service. It encourages youth to engage in constructive social work and foster a sense of social responsibility. The motto of NSS is "Not Me But You," reflecting the spirit of selfless service and empathy. The main objectives include developing leadership qualities, promoting national integration, and involving students in activities that contribute to community development. NSS helps in building a disciplined, and socially responsible youth population committed to the progress of the nation.
The NSS units of Sree Narayana College, Nattika, play a vital role in fostering social responsibility and community engagement among students. With two active units, the NSS regularly organizes impactful programmes focusing on green initiatives, effective waste management, blood donation camps, anti-narcotic awareness, and sustainable development. Through these activities, NSS volunteers develop leadership skills while making meaningful contributions to society.
