- The Economics department of Sree Narayana College, Nattika shares its history with the college since1967
- It became full-fledged Department when BA Economics was introduced in 1970, making this year the golden jubilee of the department
- The department started offering the M.A course was in 1995, with a sanctioned strength of 10 students.
- In terms of number of students enrolled, Department of Economics is one of the largest department in the college
